SubSonic as a Data Access layer for DotNetNuke
DotNetNuke is an open source web application framework ideal for creating, deploying and managing interactive web, intranet and extranet sites. Subsonic is an open Source Data Access Layer, that promises, "All your database are belong to us". This sessions starts off by showing what’s wrong with the recommended style of Data Access for DNN modules and then shows what’s right about using SubSonic. Code samples will be built that convert the SubSonic Auto-scaffold into a DNN module, builds modules that use the SubSonic Web Controls, and shows deployment of SubSonic Based modules with and without Web Config changes.
Jim Bonnie is an independent consultant specializing in deployments that utilize Microsoft web based technologies. Jim worked for Reuters for 18 years where he specialized in Real Time Financial data processing, and internal application development for manual data collection systems. Jim has been working with DotNetNuke since 2004 and his recent work with SubSonic and DotNetNuke won him a slot for presenting at the OpenForce 2007 Conference in Las Vegas with DevConnections. When not coding, Jim can be found on a nearby Golf Course.
