Using SharePoint Designer to Build Dashboard-type View of Lists
You don't always have to have MOSS Enterprise nor build complicated web parts using Visual Studio in order to have a eye-catching view of SharePoint list data. This talk wil show how easy it is to build data view web parts using just SharePoint Designer and a SharePoint list to create web parts that have dashboard-style colored icons. If time permits, we can also look at how one can build web parts that join related SharePoint lists using SharePoint Designer. These techniques work in both Windows SharePoint Services and Office SharePoint Server environments.
Susan has been leading a SQL Server user group for over 10 years and has used SQL Server since the 4.x days. However, the past 3 or 4 years she has focused on SharePoint, from both administrative and development points of view. She also is a .NET developer and is comfortable with both VB.NET and C#. She is a Microsoft Certified Trainer, SQL DBA 2005 and 2000, and MCSD (3 different versions). Most of her professional career has been involved in building applications for the Department of Defense, especially the US Navy.
