What DBAs need to know about BI
DBAs are busy people. Many times a BI project is sprung on them and they are told “It’s no big deal just a little BI or reporting system” only to find that it takes up big chunks of time. What we will discuss is how these projects go right or (occasionally) very wrong. We will look at some of the keys for success and items that you should consider to keep your sanity.
Dan Hartshorn is a Principal Consultant at Hartshorn Associates, Inc. and has been responsible for the management, architecture and development of large Business Information systems. He is an expert in the implementation of SQL Server and worked with Microsoft on the release of PerformancePoint Server and its deployment. He has been a DBA and tries really hard not to drive them crazy.
