Using the PerformancePoint Server 2007 Planning Components to Build Budget/Forecasting
In this presentation we will see how the planning components of Performance Point Server 2007 can be used to create a budget / forecasting solution for a fictitious company. Currently, many existing practices are painstakingly manual, have lots of moving parts and are therefore very error prone. We'll see how Performance Point Server allows us to design a robust, secure, elegant and all-compassing solution. We'll first look at the finished product, and then peel back the covers and see how your key finance-savvy business users can put the pieces together without heavy IT involvement. Finally, we'll see how your budget input and budget approvers would interact with this solution leveraging their strong familiarity with Excel.
Joe Toscano currently is a SQL Server BI Specialist with RDA and has worked with SQL Server since version 6.5 and with Sybase prior to that. Joe has presented both locally for the Philadelphia SQL Server User Group and internationally at The Professional Association for SQL Server and thoroughly enjoys consulting, mentoring, instructing and presenting any SQL Server related topics.
